The Reinforced Slope Wall at the 18th hole is now complete.
This milestone brings us one step closer to unveiling a truly exceptional finishing hole.

The construction of a Reinforced Slope Wall for the golf course, along with the subgrade leveling, is in progress. Aerial view shows the subgrading platform of Hole 1, 9 & 18.

To ensure the construction site remains safe and stable, a reinforced slope wall is being built to support the soil and prevent collapses. Additionally, protective measures like coverings—such as tarps or erosion-control blankets—are used to shield the site from extreme weather, such as heavy rain or strong winds. These steps help keep the area secure, prevent damage, and avoid delays, ensuring the project stays on track even in harsh conditions.

Golf course subgrade leveling is underway. The drainage filter layer (rockfill/geotextile with U-pins) is being installed, with specified materials compacted in 400mm compliant layers.

With the retaining wall taking shape, levelling work is also being carried out on existing ground, enabling the transfer of select fill materials and drainage filter layer (rockfill) with geotextile and geogrid. The materials will be compacted into layers a maximum of 400mm in depth, using a roller to achieve the required standard.

A temporary soil bund and drainage channels allow surface runoff water to percolate through a geotextile filter and meet specific government regulations.

Selected materials are being imported. Each layer of rock fill material shall be compacted by at least eight passes of a vibrating roller or by other equivalent compaction method approved by the Engineer.

Continue site clearance to prepare for constructing the reinforced slope wall. Simultaneously, advance Phase Two site formation work on +38mPD & +40mPD platforms.

As part of the major build in phase two of course construction, the reinforced sloped wall, also called a retaining wall, will be developed. Averaging six to eight metres in height, the 1.5km retaining wall improves functionality by expanding the playable area in the project footprint, creating level surfaces, and offsetting uneven terrain and elevation changes.

Phase Two site formation has commenced, with golf course subgrade work in progress. This critical layer ensures long-term stability by compensating for potential landfill settlement while providing the precise slopes needed for drainage. Proper subgrade construction also acts as a protective barrier, preventing landfill gas migration into the turf root zone.

Together with representatives from Plover Cove Golf Club, the appointed construction company - CR Construction Company Limited - and project consultants held a traditional Chinese project commencement ceremony to mark Stage Two of the project's site formation.

The completed +40mPD platform (40m above Principal Datum) ensures golf course stability by preventing landfill gas migration and differential settlement. It complies with all government safety standards, protecting turf integrity from subsurface contaminants.

Gas well protection on the uppermost platform is now complete, with works progressing as planned.

Continue Phase One site preparation works, including material stockpiling and protective measures for the gas well, in full compliance with health and safety regulations and government protocols.

The first batch of soil, with a volume of 200,000m³, was delivered, marking the beginning of Phase One of the site formation works. This phase aims to level the entire golf course by cutting and filling terrain, providing balanced earthwork distribution, and maximising land usability for optimal course design and drainage efficiency.

As Hong Kong's first privately held reclaimed-land championship golf course, Plover Cove is destined to make history while creating an exclusive sanctuary for discerning players.
